Please join Sacred Heart parishioners in the Parish Church on Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. to learn more about this significant mandate threatening our religious freedom in the United States! We must stay educated on this assault on religious freedom and life.

“In the United States, religious liberty does not depend on the benevolence of who is regulating us. It is our “first freedom” and respect for it must be broad and inclusive—not narrow and exclusive. Catholics and other people of faith and good will are not second-class citizens. And it is not for the government to decide which of our ministries is “religious enough” to warrant religious freedom protection.”

The lecture will address the most recent mandate by Health & Human Services that will require nearly all companies to provide employee health insurance that covers procedures and practices that violate our Catholic beliefs.  Lecture to cover the following topics:

• Summary of the Jan 20 mandate and related threats • Why this is a most serious threat to our society • Archbishop Naumann’s response • U.S. Council of Catholic Bishop’s response • How the Catholic Church and religious organizations will be impacted • How individuals, business organizations and others will be impacted • Correct medical definitions of conception, pregnancy, emergency contraceptives, etc. • 1st Amendment to U.S. Constitution (religious freedom) • HHS misuse of “preventive services” • What’s Next – the risks of expanded threats within “preventive services” • The Coercion Mandate includes an “Abortion Mandate” • Promotion of abortion drugs and devices with the mandate • How Planned Parenthood benefits from the mandate • Resources available to help you educate others • What you can do?
